FAQ

How much does drywall repair cost in Frisco?

Small patches — nail pops, anchor holes, doorknob dings — typically run $100 to $300 for a visit covering several spots. A settling-crack repair above a door or a section of water-damaged ceiling usually runs a few hundred dollars. Whole-wall rebuilds, high-foyer work, and Level 5 smooth finishes cost more. Every job starts with a free written, itemized estimate, so you know the number before we start.

My new home has nail pops and cracks above the doors. Is this a builder warranty issue?

Often, yes — and this is one of the most common questions we get in Frisco. In a home under two or three years old, nail pops and settling cracks usually fall under the builder’s one-year (sometimes two-year) workmanship warranty. We assess your home, distinguish legitimate warranty items from normal settling, and document everything with photos and notes formatted for a builder’s warranty department. We’ll tell you honestly what belongs on the punch list and what you should just have fixed.

Why does my brand-new home already have drywall cracks?

Physics, not bad construction. North Texas sits on expansive clay soil that swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and a new slab adjusts to it for the first several years. Meanwhile, lumber continues drying and framing adjusts through 100-degree summers and hard freezes. The movement shows up exactly where walls concentrate stress: above doors and windows, at ceiling corners, along long seams. Proper repairs anticipate continued movement — that’s the difference between a patch that lasts and one that re-splits next year.

How fast can you come out?

Estimates are typically scheduled within a day or two of your call, and most repairs are completed within 24-48 hours after approval. Active leaks and sagging ceilings get priority — tell us when you call and we’ll get someone out as fast as we can, often same day.

Do you handle hail and storm damage claims?

Yes. Collin County hail seasons keep us busy. We document interior damage with dated photos and written scopes, provide estimates in the format adjusters expect, and coordinate timing around your roofer — interior repairs come after the roof is fixed, and sequencing that correctly is part of the job. We’re not a public adjuster, but our documentation makes claims move smoothly.

The ceiling stain is small. Can’t it just be sealed and painted?

Sometimes — but usually not. A stain means water traveled through the material, and where water traveled, the drywall is weakened and the cavity behind it may still be damp. Sealing and painting over it hides the problem while the insulation above stays wet — which is where mold starts. We open the area, verify it’s dry, rebuild properly, and the stain never returns. A stain covered without fixing the cause almost always comes back.

Can you work on my two-story foyer ceiling?

Yes — and it’s a bigger deal than most people expect. Frisco’s high foyers and vaulted great rooms need scaffolding, proper fall protection, and overhead finishing technique to avoid drips, ridges, and bands. We’re equipped for it and do it regularly across Frisco. It’s priced accordingly, and the estimate will reflect the access work honestly.

Will the repair match my wall’s texture and sheen?

That’s the standard we hold ourselves to. We identify your finish — smooth Level 5, orange peel, or knockdown — match the texture with test patterns before touching your wall, and prime so the sheen blends. In smooth-finish homes we finish to model-home standard, because North Texas sun exposes every shortcut. On aged or sun-faded walls, we’ll tell you honestly whether a patch will be perfectly invisible or a very good blend, and what full re-texturing would cost if you want perfect uniformity.

How long will my repair take?

Small patches: a single visit. A water-damaged ceiling section: usually a day, plus drying verification. Larger rebuilds and Level 5 finishing: two to four days depending on coats and drying time. We don’t rush drying — compound and texture need real curing time, and rushing it is why cheap repairs crack later.

Do I need to be home during the repair?

No. We protect floors and furniture, contain the work zone, and clean up fully. Many Frisco clients are at work while we repair — we walk through the results together when you’re home, under your lights, before we call it done.

Do you do work other than repairs — like installing drywall for an addition?

Yes — full installation is one of our core services in a city that grows as fast as Frisco does. Additions, media rooms, garage conversions, casitas: we handle hanging through finishing and the critical job of blending new drywall with the old walls around it.

Do you remove popcorn ceilings?

Occasionally requested in Frisco’s earliest 1990s subdivisions — and yes, we handle removal and refinish to smooth or light texture. We test for asbestos-era material before disturbing any older texture, per safety regulations.

What areas do you serve?

Frisco and the surrounding Collin and Denton County edges: Plano, Little Elm, Prosper, McKinney, and The Colony. If you’re nearby and unsure, call and ask — we’d rather tell you straight up front.

What payment do you accept?

Cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payment is due at completion, and for larger projects like full installs we can split payments across milestones. Insurance work is invoiced per your claim’s requirements.
